Underage drinking prevention organization and comic book series team up to help troubled teens

Archie Comics and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recently announced a partnership to help raise awareness of the negative impact alcohol use can have on troubled teens.
MADD will be hosting the first annual Powertalk 21 Day on April 21, which coincides with the national day for parents to talk their children about alcohol use. Officials said that teens and adults often have different attitudes in regards to underage drinking and their aim is to break that barrier.
The Archie Comics Double Issue will involve a story about underage drinking prevention and will feature the likeness of Dallas Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten. Adolescence is widely known as the age of experimenting and development. Studies have shown than communicating with teens may help them stay away from alcohol.
Family communication may also help in motivating teens to achieve more academically. However, parents may wish to enroll their child into recreational therapy if they are not equipped to handle the situation.
The 2009 Monitoring the Future Survey shows that 72 percent of high school seniors used alcohol at least once during their lifetime.
