School awarded anti-bullying grant to raise awareness

Many schools are revamping their bullying prevention programs as a result of recent suicides being attributed to harassment on school grounds and online. These curricula are designed to help students, parents and teachers learn the best methods to combating the behavior, while helping those who suffer from it.
For example, Westmont Hilltop elementary and middle schools, located in Pennsylvania, recently announced that they were awarded a grant to help fund bullying-prevention programs, The Tribune-Democrat reports.
The school will receive part of a grant totaling $207,505, which will be used to to provide learning institutions with the Teaching Resources for Understanding Ethics Respect Bullying prevention kits.
These kits include books, illustrated activity cards and posters that cover different forms of bullying and how teachers can properly handle situations. Furthermore, there are discussion questions as well as take-home assignments for students.
Therapeutic boarding schools may help children who are bullied. These learning institutions can provide them with a safe place to grow and achieve success
According to a survey conducted by the Cyberbullying Research Center, a total of 7.5 percent of students reported being harassed online.
