New research from Wake Forest University indicates that people who show negative perceptions towards others have a higher chance of exhibiting narcissism and antisocial behavior. A person's judgement of others discloses much about their personality, one researcher said.
Researchers found that people who have a negative outlook toward others may indicate underlying personality disorders. Research shows a correlation between a person's positive outlook towards others and how happy, courteous and emotionally stable they are.
The study shows the tendency to view others negatively raises the likelihood of depression and various personality disorders.
Techniques that promote positive attitudes in kids could help in ending behavior patterns relating to different negative personality disorders. Teen boarding schools have been proven to encourage kids to see the good in all aspects of life.
Studies have shown that how people perceive others in their environment is a stable trait that does not fluctuate over time.
The study also found that how someone sees other people shows how satisfied they are in their life, and how much they are liked by others.
